How to be Spiritually Healthy
Our story
How to be Spiritually Healthy
When it comes to spirituality, you can be placed into one of five categories. The first category is made up of those who believe in God and have a well-formulated understanding of who He is and how they relate to Him. They also live their lives according to a set of values that are rooted in moral principles.
The second category contains individuals who believe in God but do not necessarily live out these beliefs or adhere to the values they know to be true.
The third category still believes in God, though their understanding is less clear and they are unsure about what values should guide them.
The fourth category is more ambivalent towards God, often seeing religion as strange or unrealistic. Their values focus on what constitutes being a “good” person with no definitive set of moral rules by which they live their lives.
Finally, there are those who firmly reject the idea of God, instead believing that there are many paths through life for us all and that good and evil should remain unlabelled and nebulous concepts.
At The Well, we take a firm stance in favouring the first category; one based on a strong and solid moral framework. We believe that without such an ethical backbone, decisions become arbitrary and selfish, with little real substance behind them. These are the decisions that lead to families disentegrating. And so we seek to provide guidance from the Holy Bible, supporting your journey towards living a spiritual life rooted in faith and morality.

Spiritual experiences often accompany spiritual growth; these can be both empowering and humbling. These encounters with the divine help to reveal our limitations and open up a new perspective on how we can improve ourselves and the world around us. Through these experiences, we can go beyond our limited understanding of life and look towards something higher, connecting with a source of insight and knowledge that helps us to live in harmony with each other and all of creation.
These experiences with God often come when we experience a significant loss or miraculous recovery. I remember having such an experience when my mother breathed her last breath. I was in the hospital restroom crying with deep despair when I sensed God saying, “I suppose now you will come to me first.” This experience awakened a renewed conviction to make God first in my life. To trust in Him over anyone or anything. That is indeed how my mother lived. I thank God for her godly example of living in relationship with God.
Achieving spiritual health is about establishing a harmonious relationship with God and being open to His guidance. By consistently dedicating time for prayer, reflection, and an attitude of gratitude, we can experience true communion with God daily. Through our connection with Him, we can trust that He will provide us with the strength and wisdom necessary for living a fulfilling life.
At The Well, we provide a space for spiritual growth and personalized services to ensure you can get the most out of your journey. Have you ever felt God speaking to your spirit? Such an encounter can be a life-changing experience that awakens a renewed conviction within us to make God first in our lives. We can trust in Him over anyone or anything else, and it is this type of relationship that we should strive for.
If you are looking for such an intimate connection with God, all you need to do is ask Him to reveal Himself to you – He will always be ready and willing to do so. As Jeremiah 29:13 NLT states, “if you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Don’t be afraid of the journey ahead; it may be difficult at times but ultimately it will bring more fulfillment than anything else in the world.

Spiritual growth is a journey that takes us both inward and outward. We often need guidance from those around us, but it is crucial to remain in tune with the will of God so that we can discern His plan for our lives. It is vital to seek out wise counsel from trusted sources and pray for wisdom when discerning the voice of God. We must never forget that we are all on a path toward finding our true purpose and destiny, be it in solitary reflection or as part of a spiritual community. Along the way, we should strive to be mindful of others’ needs and respect the divine relationship between all things.
At The Well, we strive to create a safe and supportive community for spiritual growth. We offer a variety of resources to help you find God – from engaging discussions and courses to seminars and one-on-one chats – so that your connection with Him can become deeper and more meaningful. No matter what form it takes, our mission is that every person who visits us leaves having experienced an enriching moment of clarity and direction. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like some spiritual guidance.
Here are the steps to take to work on growing spiritually.
- Talk to God like you would talk to a friend and ask Him to reveal Himself.
- Pray the Lord’s Prayer Jesus instructed His disciples to pray in Matthew 6:9-13.
- Establish a regular time when you will take time to spend with God every day. During this time, you can pray, sing or listen to spiritual music, walk in nature, listen to a sermon, read a devotional thought, etc.
- Ask God to lead you to someone who can give you good spiritual guidance and teach you the Bible.
- Join a Bible study or church group where you can be nurtured and loved in your walk of faith.
- Remain open to sense God leading you each day. He will give you convictions to turn to the right or the left based on what is written in the Bible. When in doubt, do your research. Ask God to give you unrest till you make the right decision.
